Just want to say the some men that have been taken care of by there parents, ' Know about house cleaning just as much a little child!'
So beware to all that has adopted a bloke from their mothers home. Alot of training is needed even general 'comon- sense around the house is needed to be told.
This is'nt meant to offend anyone, Just saying some need the gentle guidance thats all!!
I am on determination right now with my partner, as before he moved here straight from his mums and he DOES NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HOUSEHOLD. But I will not be his mum and intend to live in a 'share the house work' home. Its bloody hard and I will not give in. Even though he is lazy and deep down I am quite peed off how his mum bought him up as I am lumped with his laziness. :mad:0 -

You sound just like me! Mine is rediculous in the extreme sometimes, he will take off his jeans right by the PC and leave them on the floor, and watched while I pick them up, fold them and put them on top of his PC unit, so he can find them. Every day is the same, and he STILL hasnt learned to put them folded and off the floor!
AAARRRRRGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH   (insert a smiley of girl strangling boy)
A big PLEASE to all mums of boys - please, for the love of God, train them - in at least the basics!

It always amazes me when Mr Katiepops moans and groans that he's got no clean socks ... no matter how many times I tell him that I am NOT going around and picking them up off the floor for him, he still doesn't get the point that if it doesn't go in the laundry bin then it won't get washed - even my three year old puts his dirty clothes in there, so why can't a 30 year old man?

Ah well, He must of been given some house responsibilities before you and him moved together!
Lucky, lucky, lucky!!!0 -
If you are really lucky he will get to the stage where he walks over to the empty dishwasher with his dirty plate - and then puts it down on the work top above the dishwasherIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0

I see that I am not the only one complaining about dirty socks everywhere.
What is it with them? Why must they strip as soon as they walk in? Right on the spot and can't even be bothered to walk to the laundery basket?
Now I know that I am not a clean freak but I do like routing cleaning e.g; Washing dishes, hoover, wipe cooker, work tops dinning table etc and every week, dusting, intense bog clean, bathroom, kitchen etc (you get the picture.)
But the guy (Mine) still has no idea and has to be always reminded!!!0 -
I've got a mix of a grumble at men and a laundry dilema...
was trying to get stains out of OH's white shorts and resorted to sloshing a bit of bleach on and then put them in the washing machine with the rest of the load, now there is a bleached spot right on the front of my new top. I know that strictly speaking it's my fault, but easier to blame him!!
Anyone know if I can undo the bleaching effect on my top?0 -
From reading earlier threads while indexing, and from my own experience - nope.
Either dye the whole thing if you can/dare, or consider hiding it behind a broach or an applique flower or iron on design or something.
I think the thread on bleach on clothes is in the Cleaning section of the MEGA Index sticky.Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there.
