Received 2 texts from 'Orange'. Are they??

I have received 2 texts this week. one is from No 1129 saying Orange will be sending me some weekly offers and to text No if I do not want them. The other is from 1169 offering me 200 texts for £2 this weekend and to text 'yes' if I want them.

Are these numbers from orange? I don't want either but do not want to text No and get charged about £100 for it!!

If you don't want either of them, just delete the messages with no reply.

They can't charge you to recieve messages you haven't agreed to recieve.

Teeb, you have obviously not heard or experienced the scam that is known as 'Unsolicited Reverse Bill texts' !

My advice, from experience, is for blue_monkey to contact Orange c/s to see if it was them who has been sending these texts, if not they will be able to inform you who it was.

The two numbers that you have quoted, 1129 & 1169 are not the normal short codes by which scam messages are sent. These are 5 figure numbers that normally start with 8.
