Hi emma just read your post... I was just laughing coz im totally in the same situation..!! Yesterday was my first night out in 2 months coz im soo skint...!!
My wife and i try to budget as same as you -but nothing seems to working out..
I don't know what to do about it... I was thinking of moving in with my parents if thats the only option i have left...
I'm 25 and my wife is 23.. and it's horrible knowing we can't go out clubbing on a saturday night.. instead we have to sit in the house and watch tv whilst drinking a cup of nice coco...0 -
You will get there.
Having read your two stories it reminds me of how I spent many of my early years with my now ex. We worked, eat, slept and never went to a pub or had a social life or holiday for 18 months. Only when family visited did we go out and as both sets of parents lived over 200 miles away this wasn't very often. It was just what we did. Its only now when I look back I realise how short of money we were. Rent, food, bills and nothing left. It was worth the struggle. Friends, renting, Marriage, Mortgage, two great boys, divorce. :j£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4.............................NCFC member No: 00005.........

LOL!! I'm 28 and really genuinely can't remember the last time we had a night out, and in 5 years together we've never had a holiday!0

no offence but the grass is always greener
if you cant go out you think its the best thing ever and in reality all you want to do is be at home. your never quite comfortable in what your wearing, you cant get served its too busy and people push in, the drinks are too expensive, someone spills one, there is always an obnoxious dancer on the dance floor who gets in the way, you cant get a taxi and your feet now hurt and there is a hangover in the morning.
What ya missing???Ready to Go Go!0 -
Thats true.
I now enjoy my evenings in. A bottle of wine, good film and the company of my man. :j£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4.............................NCFC member No: 00005.........

It's not neccessarily just the nights out though - it's no days out or holidays either.0

We visited parents for our holidays. Just the petrol money to find. Cheap accommadation and food and only stay a few days or even just over night for a break. No arguements with the inlaws etc then.
Is this something you could do for a change of scenery?£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4.............................NCFC member No: 00005.........

Used to be very broke too, so I feel your pain.
Some thoughts about where the money goes -
cigarettes
alchohol
convenience food
magazines
tea/coffee out
clothes (Tesco, George and Primark are really good!!)
satellite tv
cosmetics
All of these are luxuries (well, the clothes aren't! But shopping in non-cheap clothes shops is). If you are clean in all these areas then well done you.0
