If you or if you know anyone who served in the forces....The Victory Services Club is a good option....
I use the place all the time for £28.00 per night, its right off Marble Arch....Just because I'm paranoid, doesn't mean Easyjet aren't out to get me0 -

Excellent. Basically what is it like?
We are only really using it for a bed as we will be going to see dirty dancing on the friday night then go around the sights and out for a meal on the Saturday.
As long as it is clean and tidy we'll be ok.
One other thing do the rooms have irons? We are travelling from south wales by train so our clothes will no doubt be creased like madI would like to thank everyone who contributed to the Ramada/Days Inn BRG thread.0 -
We met a friendfrom S Wales and took a taxi there from Paddington. One of our group paid £9 (plus tip) but the other £16 (plus tip). It was £11 back on Sunday, so bear that in mind.
Clean and tidy hotel. Big lobby. Small rooms - typical for London though. Very Holiday Inn in style - at least you know what you are getting. Didn't see an iron but you can probably get one by asking. Had a fridge.
Relatively close to Gloucester Road tube which has plenty of choice of tube lines and you can get into the West End easily. Very busy leaving Covent Garden at night after the shows, so you might want to wait or walk to another tube as Covent garden has 193 steps and lifts so busy becomes extra busy.
Within walking distance of Natural History Museum and Victoria and Albert Museum. I also think Science Museu is in the area.
Check out travelcards or Oyster cards before you go so you know what to buy to get around.
We had a lovely meal at Olives in the Baileys Hotel close to Gloucester tube. Meal was great value at 12.50 two courses or 14.50 for three. However, watch the wine and water - v. expensive. Also the wine at the Holiday Inn pub was expensive so we had a few in the pub opposite GR tube.
By the tube is a Tesco metro for nibbles.
Breakfast at Holiday Inn, if you have it included, was extensive in choice.0 -
I have stayed at the Premiertravel inn at Southwark with work a few times and it is a decent hotel which is connected to a very nice pub on the banks of the thames. It is a couple of minutes to London Bridge station and is near to Southwark Catherdral and the Tate Modern gallery.0
