  • Hi Jamie, glad to see you and that you're achieving loads.

I've done all shopping and tree is up so we're drinking the liqueurs and eating the chocolates now! Kids Christmas Party at school today and we've made cookies to take.

Finished emptying my Dad's flat yesterday - keys are handed back. Was very sad but my half sister made us a meal and that was lovely.

  • Jamie you could try this medicine I used on my daughter. She had flu last week really badly. I was recommended to try Sambuccol. It is clinically proven to actually smother the virus - the virus has to have spikes to replicate itself by invading your body cells, so Sambuccol flattens the spikes and renders the virus helpless. It was expensive at £9 but within a day she was bouncing around! I just figured anything was worth a try, but having tried it I would use it again at the first sign of a respiratory type virus.

  • Hello Jamie,

How are you sweetheart? Was looking forward to hearing about your family's Christmas. We are all done and ready - eating the goodies and drinking the ale LOL. Hope you are not poorly. The downside of December is all the horrible viruses lurking around.

Thinking of you and the kids anyway.

    Hi Cat:)

I'm good thanks:), I have been posting on the 4k challenge thread in the last week as I prepare for 2009!

Its been a busy few weeks on the run up to christmas! But.... all the prezzies are bought, and wrapped, the tree is up and decorated, choccies are out and the kids are over excited!!!:D

we are going up to my parents this year before lunch on xmas day, i like xmas eve and the morning to be at home with the kids watching them open all their prezzies!!

i will be doing a food shop on xmas eve (must be mad) as its the only time I could get someone to look after the kids so I can go. i dont need anything particularly xmassy but will pick up some wine to take to my parents on xmas day. other than that i just need normal food and will be picking up a few stockpiling items:D

my budget for next year has been changed so many times, one of the big reasons for the changes i have made to it this week have been the decision to buy a greenhouse (plastic not metal) and all the costs involved in that (slabs, groundsheet, bark, staging) but i feel that after my good successes this year with veggies I would like to grow on a larger scale in 2009 and make a real difference to our food budget.:j

i have managed to get the slabs for free from my dad!!!:):j

to have enough money to do this as part of the challenge, i need to make enough money in 2009 to make xmas money neutral (have made a start already as have £67 validated in quidco!):D

I am also hoping to make enough by ebay, carboots etc, to afford a bigger hen house this year!!!:D

decorating is big on my list for 2009 having nearly finished 3 rooms now, i would like to continue onto the rest of the house. this money will come from my savings.

i am still paying extra on the debt and this will continue until it has all gone!!!

Cat - hoping you and your family have a wonderful christmas, and also to everyone else who posts on my thread especially....donner, jen, sophiesmum, verbatim and not forgetting dollyanne (i hope you are ok hunni) hope you all have a brilliant 2009!!!

  • Happy christmas to you and the kids too Jamie, hope 2009 is a great year for you all:j :j
    Reduce,re-use, recycle.

  • Well done Jamie. I intend to grow some veggies in 2009 in pots and tubs.

 at shopping Christmas eve though, you are brave. We went on Sunday and it was fairly quiet, I bought all the veg yesterday. So in theory shouldn't need anything else. Have work today, then thats me finished until Saturday:T.

    Have a lovely Christmas:D

  • Oh good to hear you're doing so well Jamie! I love the sound of your plans for 2009 - it's so positive having plans.

I'd love a henhouse and to grow veggies but I don't know where the heck I'd fit it all in - not enough hours in the week as it is in our house! So I'll have to be content with the supermarket ones for now. But I should put some plans in place for 2009 too - before New Year. I would like to get more organised with home cooked meals - not just bolognese, stew and curry LOL!

Have a great Christmas Jamie and the other campers!
