I'm just wondering about the home owners who are saying there isn't a down turn in the market when all the facts say otherwise. I bet those home owners were quick to accept the fact when house prices soared!

House prices have never EVER stagnated. Ever.

People say it's different this time and it is... debts are high, half the country is on benefits, and prices are twice as high vs wages now than they were in the 80s peak.

ALL independant experts without a vested interest say price will drop. A lot.

Even a lot of banks are predicting drops, for example HSBC are predicting 30% falls.

    Game over man GAME OVER!!!!!!!!

I thanked your post cos of the Aliens reference cos weirdly enough I quoted a line out of Aliens on this board yesterday :)

    Anyway

I personaly think prices need to come down whats the point in giving so much hard earned cash to banks

Its not my fault you lot can't afford a house, get over yourselves!

Thats a pretty nasty view, by the way. Many FTBers have been really priced out of the market... its not their fault greedy BTLers have pushed the price up along with government policy.

Greedy BTL'rs? You mean those people that have either invested their money or used the system to try to make money.......
There will always be greedy people, some of them will be BTL'rs, because its been the best thing to be in for many years. But many normal people have invested in it as well. As said on here by someone before, many because their pension has been stolen or mucked up.

Or because, despite paying in for 35 years, many of us still haven't a pension which covers our living expenses.

Is SquatNow the Capo de Tutti?
In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:

Try working that out again from all 6 of the morning posts on this thread.. Your stats are wrong.
RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

My answer to the OP is NO one knows. However if you look at the broader Economic climate (Credit crunch etc) it 'aint looking good!

I think one of the better indicators are the City 'Spread Betting' firms. They are forecasting more than 5% drop for this year.
