Feedback before picking up product???

Hi, I sold my artists easel on ebay last week for £1.00 - no-one was bidding so this person won it and has just sent an instant payment through paypal which is pending. I sent him a message last week with an invoice through ebay to remind them the item was to be collected (as it was advertised as local pick up). Anyway he has not replied but already he has put feedback on saying good ebayer, nice product. But he hasn't even got it yet!

Is he just being slow or does he really want it??

he is located in Buckinghamshire.

This is a large easel that can not be posted. Also I had an exhaust collected that was payment by paypal for £30.

How was I to know only one person was going to bid. It started at £1 so the buyer knew it was paypal.

    Why not paypal??

If you take paypal on collected items you leave yourself wide open for a chargeback as you cannot prove delivery. Paypal only offer seller protection if you follow their t&cs.
  • he'd have to be a right tight a$$e to claim back £1 lol!!!
    :D
  • True, but it's something to remember in future if you're selling something more valuable on collection only.

Only £1 this time but what about next time, or for other people reading this thread and thinking that paypal is suitable for collected items?

This is one of my all time bug bears...please NO PAYPAL ON COLLECTED ITEMS.

There are scammers out there who actually search out naive sellers offering paypal on collected items..just to scam them.

  • After email saying he would be in lancashire in two weeks, still no sign of him phoning or emailing? Am I being too impatient?

Not sure what to do, I don't want to email again, as he has paid and if he wants it he should collect??
