What are the alternatives available on pay as you go to the iphone?

Do such phones exist?

As you probably know, you can't get the iPhone on PAYG yet.

So, what are there in terms of touchscreen-based phones that you can get on PAYG?

There is the LG Prada. T-Mobile and Orange both sell these (admittedly for about £200), and other networks may,too - I've not searched fully.

There's also the LG Viewty, which is another touchscreen phone. It's on T-Mobile and Virgin PAYG for £280 for the handset.

There may be more, but these are the two that come off the top of my head.

Lg viewty is probably the best alternative - a lot of very similar features, but also a much better camera - since i've had mine, i haven's used my proper camera once!
Wins since June: iPod shuffle 1gb, Samsung g800, cinema ticket, lush retro giftbox, 2x mp3 downloads, a big box of food (???)

why not just get a hacked/unlocked one and teach apple right for being so stupid and greedy, aparanly 1/4 of all sold end up being hacked to work on the network of choice.

that said appart from the user interface my o2 xda from 5 years back could do most of its tricks, i cant wait for the google andriod stuff personally.

I've been looking into this for a few weeks, and as far as I can see the only real alternative in terms of spec is the viewty, although it's a bit of a brick the cam is great and it has the full touchscreen. Carphone warehouse are doing them sim free (unlocked) for £250, phones for you are doing them for £230 and computer exchange £215.
Fr. Stack: While you were out, I got the keys to your car. And drove it into a big wall. And if you don't like it, tough. I've had my fun, and that's all that matters.

i don't find the viewty to be too big - may seem it at first, but it's quite slim considering the features that are packed into it. the only negative with it, is the fact that it has this brilliant camera...and no lens cover

WHS AKA O2 XDA Orbit 2 just picked one up on Saturday and It'll take 32GB Micro SD Cards when they are released in mass. Has a Touch type interface as well called TouchFLO
    Cheers
