Hopefully the best place for this question as a few of you may have taken it. How easy is the IMC exam?

Hmmm interesting....
* the regulation and practices of financial markets;
* securities and investments; and
* the principles of investment management
The IMC is made up of two units, Unit 1 - UK Regulation & Markets and Unit 2 - Investment Practice, covering the following eight topic areas:
Regulatory Environment
Financial Instruments & Other Investments
Markets
Taxation
Portfolio Management
Accounting
Economics
Statistics
Assessment
The IMC is assessed using an examination paper testing knowledge of all eight topics containing 140 multiple-choice questions in a three hour examination. Alternatively students may sit seperate papers for each unit.
or you can split it into two exams
Unit 1 - UK Regulation & Markets is assessed using an examination paper testing knowledge of topic areas 1, 3 and 4, containing 46 multiple-choice questions in a one hour examination.
Unit 2 - Investment Practice is assessed using an examination paper testing knowledge of areas 2, 5, 6 , 7 and 8, containing 94 questions in a two hour examination. Passing the units at seperate sittings is accepted as being equivalent to passing the full IMC at a single sitting.
Looks pretty straightforward... read a book, sit the exam and your an IMC
I think I'll give it a shot !0 -
