Start a dispute now?

Bought an item on Saturday night from a Powerseller, 98.9% feedback, a lot of negs for high postage, but it was cheaper than I was going to get it in town.
Today I log onto ebay and find the seller is NARU'd, but I've had an email last night saying the item was posted yesterday.

I paid by Paypal, funded by CC which I usually do, plus the fiver free I got from survey sites.

Soooo should I wait a few days to see if it turns up, knowing that I'm protected by credit card anyway, or should I start a Paypal dispute now?

  • I would start a PayPal claim - you can always close it if the goods come in.

  • Started the dispute this morning and the seller has replied saying he will "report me to ebay" (for doing the sensible thing and what they would recommend ) and ordering me to close the dispute now, which I refuse to do.

    *sigh*

I can tell this is going to be anything but smooth...

I would go ahead with the claim, if he is no longer registered then how is he going to report you?!

  • Exactly, and report me for what exactly? Covering myself?

There's no way I'm going to close the dispute until I get my goods, and if that doesn't happen within a reasonable time frame (considering he said he sent it yesterday), I'll escalate to a claim.

  • After being extremely hostile, he hasn't sent the item, and this is his latest message in the dispute console:

    1 . i have over 3500 rating
2 . i have not paid my ebay bill thats why it shows no longer user.
3 game was going to be sent 2moro
4 i not gonna bother now.

    Escalate now anyone?

He's full of it, was it posted 'yesterday' or '2moro'?

  • God knows, I've given up arguing and escalated. I suspect it hasn't been posted yet, and I'm not going to argue with an idiot.

  • Well it's Wednesday and the post's just been and guess what? No game. So he's lying about posting it on Monday.

  • He's been NARU'd anyway so there wouldn't be much point unless he becomes reinstated.
