One thing that is forgotten about Betamax is that the studios and especially news crews used it for many years after its domestic demise, because it was technically superior to the alternatives. So HD Dvd might survive in a niche use, !!!!!! has been suggested.;)

just spoken to play, apparently i have one that is waiting for despatch, probably later on today, he did say i was one of the last ones to get one, so peteherts yours is probably waiting to go as well, seems we was one of the lucky ones.

Yep they mailed me just after 12 to say it had been despatched so now another 3-5 days before it gets here (I'm like a kid at Christmas :rotfl: ).
My TV goes to 1080i and it will be a few months yet before I get a Full HD TV.

yes, but i usually pay by debit card, but just before purchasing it, i changed payment method to credit card, as not enough funds in my bank account to cover it, but as i said yesterday i checked the card online last night, and they took funds on the 11/03/08, the day i ordered it, so what the hell they playing at , some other guy ordered it yesterday, and they sent it yesterday

do you know if there is much difference between 1080i, and 1080p, as my tv also only goes to 1080i, will i be able to tell the difference alot?.
