If you mean the player then HD-DVD players are slower than normal players from what I've read but if I'm gonna watch a film in HD then I can wait that little longer.Always looking for a bargain and to help0 -

Not wanting to put a downer on this, but are you aware that the HD-DVD format has been dropped. As most film studios have said they will be using the Blu-Ray format instead of HD-DVD it doesn't seem like a good idea to spend your money on a machine that you won't be able to get any new films to play on it other than the ones already available.

Fair comment but there are some 500+ titles out there and they are still making some in HD-DVD, this also upscales to 1080p and your getting 2 free movies.
I've also found out you can add another 5 movies (not sure what they are) for a total price of £69.99 when going through to checkout.Always looking for a bargain and to help0 -

yes that is true, but at the same time, £50 for this machine with 2 free movies, which on there own would cost about £30, is a steal, if you are people like me, who only wants a upscaler, this is perfect for that, with the bonus of being able to play proper hd movies on it, also the cheapest standalone blue ray players around at the moment are £250, which i certainly either afford, or justify the spend, especially as these players are most certainly the first batch of blue ray players that were made, and as such are virtually obsolete now, as you need the latest models to get the most out of them, and also there are certain films that are on hd, that are not on blue ray, and at the moment there are over 150 hd dvd titles, that are also bound to come down in price, so at the moment it is a no-brainer for me, Dave.Take every day as it comes!!0
