Has anyone had any success with MFI when things have gone wrong?

Only for a very specific value of "Success". If you mean eventually getting the goods I ordered, then yes. If you mean achieving this without many, many phone calls, e-mails (unanswered), threats, failed deliveries, incorrect deliveries, etc etc then a big NO.
And if you mean with some form of compensation, apology or even just a response, you must be kidding.
That reminds me I still have a sideboard (minus the Top) in my garage that they were going to collect in August 2004. I wonder if they would like it back...
Bitter, me? :mad:Not even wrong0 -
I ordered a few items for the bedroom. All were damaged. They sent replacement parts for all damaged pieces So yes I had success, but I was not pleased with it as I got at least 3 of each piece which took up lots of room.
They rectified the problem but I would not use them again.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Quick Grabbit, Freebies, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning and the UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.

Best success I had was returning some items a full 14 months after purchasing them.
I'd started a bedroom project but then changed my mind half-way through and re-designed it - using less items. For various reasons (long story!) I didn't complete it for 14 months.
I thought I'd chance my arm and I rang them up. They agreed to come and collect the items (over £100) with no collection charge, and the money was back on my credit card within 10 days.0 -
SUCCESS! I bought an Albany cherry 2 entertainment unit (ALC2425). The left hand panel was damaged. We received FIVE (5) damaged left hand panels and eventually 1 good one over a number of weeks.
Sent this email to a few MFI Directors including gerard.hughes@mfi.co.uk: Under the Sale of Goods Act 1979 I am entitled to claim against any damage caused by faulty goods. Under the Consumer Protection Act 1987 anyone who suffers personal injury from a defective product can also claim compensation.
My house still contains 5 faulty left-hand panels from the Albany cherry entertainment unit (ALC2425). The opportunity to take away some of these panels was declined by the personal taking away our incorrectly advertised bed (GNA5792 Genoa midi sleeper) on 27 July 2005.
A gesture of goodwill to the value of £128.88 (this equalled the cost of the unit) will cover any costs associated with the removal of the faulty panels.
RECEIVED £128.88 a few days later!0 -
I bought two kids-wardrobes. They are shockingly poor quality; one collapsed within weeks and the other started to fall apart not much later.
I contacted their customer service dept who were very good, they sent out replacement parts immediately.
To sum up: appalling rubbish on sale, but excellent customer service.0 -
I bought bedroom furniture approx. 7/8 years ago. Only had a problem with two of the tops damaged which they sent out replacement within 3 days didn't want the damaged ones back so they went in dads garage for shelves, furniture still doing brill today not fallen appart or anything. Very plesed with the service.0

I think the product is great but the quality control is appalling.
I'd love the job of sorting it out.

When I bough a kitchen there was an offer of £75 off an order of £250 and £150 off an order of £500 (first house - small kitchen).
My order came to £450 so I said I'd buy an extra unit for about £50, thereby getting an extra £75 off. The sales assistant just couldn't see why I was doing it and kept asking where I would put the extra unit. I said I could take it to the tip and I'd still save £25. He still didn't get it!
In the end, I took the extra unit back and got a refund (and kept the additional £75 discount.

I ordered a new leather sofa online, after paying I realized I also got their leather protection insurance which I didn't want, so I rang them up to sort it out. They gave me another no. to call as I had placed the order online, when I called that # I was given another, I called about 8 different numbers until I went back to the first number.
Anyway, they said they couldn't cancel the insurance because of the way the system was set up (yeah, yeah ) so I cancelled my order altogether.
I still got my £50 from Quidco though.0
