No. 1 Aquilega, 2. Dicentra, 4, Polemonium(Jacobs Ladder)
No. 5 is a Berberis Thunbergeria "Aurea" - A golden variety of the Berberis, is a nice shrub to have in the right spot, but of course it is prickly.
No 8, could be either a Vinca (periwinkle) or more likely a type of Honeysuckle.
No. 7 although it looks like Jasminum , the flowers are not the correct shape and I would say it is another Climber called "solanum jasminoides" which if you Google an image of you will see is exactly the same.
I agree with Jack's Mummy, No.3 is a Primula, a bit manky, probably needs dividing and moving to a fresh site.
Lucky you for having such great plants. My Mind wanders, if found please return.0 -
what good fun

I think 8 is a greater perriwinkle, I have greater and lesser in mine. If it is you will know soon flowers in May

I think you're on to something there, I've looked it up and the flowers do look familiar. No 8, could be either a Vinca (periwinkle) or more likely a type of Honeysuckle.
I have a honeysuckle at the top of my garden which has been growing like a mad thing for 6 months now - I did originally think the thing at the bottom was also a honeysuckle, but then it wasn't growing anything like as fast as the other, in fact I don't think it's done much since I cut the dead bits off. I suppose different types flower at different times (and I don't think I've seen it flower... although the other one did, well into autumn)
The leaves are very glossy - foliage-wise, it's very attractive
It's got a bit of a gnarly stem, about as thick as a carrot. Not sure it's a true climber, it just happens to be by a wall.
I'll have to come and put update pics on when things start flowering
I just found another pic of the left of my garden, can't believe all the plants in it... it looks so bare now! The previous owners definitely liked varigated stuff
By the way.. the thing in the pot (bottome left) died back... I still have it, is it dead forever or might it come back? Last I check it looked like a pot of straw!
Oh, and this one is probably really easy...?

hi , the 'thing' in the pot is a hosta (slugs love them) they come back every year. And the last 1 looks like St Johns Wort (hypericum)0

Dunno if it's already been answered but this is not Jasmine. It is Solanum Jasminoides which is the Chilean Potato Vine.

And this one is called Tracheospernum.

These cowslips were a bit of a surprise, I thought I was getting primroses:
The old mans beard is in bloom:
Does this rose look sick? Should I be doing something to it to make it better?
Also trying to identify a few things which I'm pretty sure are young trees... I thought at first they were a lot of sycamores, but now I'm doubting the diagnosis...

I think No 5 could be cotoneaster horizontalis

Ok I'm game. I know a few of these.

2. is Dicentra Spectabilis, otherwise known as Bleeding Heart, Lady in a Bath or lastly Dutchman's Breeches (I think you can guess why).
3. is a candelabra primula (very nice, likes damp soil)
5. is a Berberis, I think
9. is Garlic Mustard (a weed)
10. looks like an Astilbe (difficult to tell with it so small)
11. is a Pulmonaria (lungwort)
12. is some kind of lily, looks like an Oriental hybrid of some sort
13. is a Day Lilly (Hemerocallis)
14. is a Paeony of some kind (probably Officinalis)
15. is a Spiraea
Tree 1 sure looks a lot like a cherry (really need a clearer photo to be sure)
Tree 2 is a Hawthorn (Crataegus)
Tree 3 looks like some kind of Maple (Acer)?
The sick rose looks like Blackspot, treat it with a systemic fungicide or better still a combined pesticide/fungicide such as Roseclear.Blessed are the geeks, for they shall inherit the Internet.0
