Amateur seeks green thing identification... (Photo heavy)

*some names added*

Hello all,

Plants are popping up in my garden (moved in in August) and it's becoming increasingly obvious that I have no idea what most of them are. Can anyone help with these?

plants002.jpgplants008.jpg
1. Got a couple of these: ............................... 2. A few of these:
*Aquilegia* ................................................. *Peony rose / Bleeding Heart

plants001.jpgplants003.jpg
3. Dunno what this odd thing is: ......................4. One of these:
.................................................................*Jacobs ladder*

plants005.jpgplants004.jpg
5. This is peeping out from the base of a shrub ...6. I've got lots of this stuff. Is it a weed? It's
thing that has been flowering for months now. ....pretty much everywhere.
Should it be moved? .......................................*Hardy geranium* Some of it might have to go ;0
*Pyracantha* (Think it will be ok under another
massive plant? When I say massive I mean about 12ft)

This is the end of my garden, where two sort of climbing plants are very close together (too close?) I cut the one on the right back and it's not doing much at the moment... I didn't cut the white flowering one, but now it keeps falling off the wall in the wind and I don't know whether to prune it back a bit or just try to re-attach it. (Pic from August, before the wind and the pruning)

7. Close up of white thing

*Jasmine*

8. Close up of other thing... the flowers might be orange but I know the pic isn't clear and I can't remember much about it flowering at the time.

Appreciate any help :) Thanks in advance!

    1st is an Aquilegia
Weeds in middle are hardy geraniums
    White thing might be jasmine

    All well worth having

I think the green thing below the purple flower is Jacob's Ladder - either blue or white flowers, but I could be wrong.

No. 5 might be a Japanese quince thing - forgot the name

I'm no expert by any means but number 2 looks like a peony rose to me, welll it looks like what I think is a peony rose growing in my gardens?

Anyone else care to add comments to identify some of these plants??

    I agree with PP - 5 is a Pyracantha - didn't notice the thorns

    Wow, so quick :)

Yes, I remember 7 being fragrant - been trying to find a better pic of the flowers, I recall they were 5 petalled (helpful huh ;))

I think I cut back the other climber because I thought it was a honeysuckle. Turned out it wasn't quite as voracious!

No 3 maybe a drumstick primula (primula denticulata sp?)

No5 is like my hedge out the front but no idea what it is called

I'm all excited now because I knew some
  • Yep, 4 is Jacob's ladder. Does 3 have tall flower spikes? It might be verbascum, or it might be a thistle weed.

Too soon to say ;) It's a funny thing... it's been growing up like a tightly packed flower clump. If you knock it, a few bits of purple flower get detatched.
