push button telephones now they were posh i dont think we got one until the 90s

also original nike air max's trainers, never got a pair but longingly wanted one.

spectrums zx's especially the 128 with the built in tape player

duvets!!!! might not sound like much but i can remember getting my first one and it felt like a marshmellow compared to the sheets and blankets we had. And i can still remember my nan saying that will ever keep you warm, and putting about 4 blankets on top of me!!! I was sweating hot!! Also remember my nan saying 'these duvets (said like doo-vets) will never catch on ya know'

I thought my friend was really posh as they had a Soda Stream and made their own fizzy drinks.
Also my auntie had dessert glasses that came out at christmas in red glass !! I thought they were posh too!
  • I went to a friends and had Birds Eye beef burgers, frozen peas and crinkle cut chips.

  • I'm still in my 30's but am of the generation
who missed the tin bath in front of the kitchen range
by about five years or something crazy

I'm still in my 30's (although only by a matter of days!)
and was still having baths in front of the fire
at the tender age of seven!

Nan used to heat the water on the stove
and put the clothes horse with towels warming around us.

She only ever had one cold tap in
the house and an outside toilet which
was warmed by a paraffin heater in the winter!

She'd think we were really posh if she knew that everyone in my house has their own loo!

You were very trendy if you had "Adidas Kick" trainers back in the late seventies round our way.
On another memory lane note, I remember when you got a fresh cream cake from the bakery and they always came sat on a paper wrapper that said "Real Dairy Cream" in blue and had a picture of a cow on it. It was a special treat if we had one of those!!

I'm only 18 but I remember when satellite TV was posh (with our 60 channels (half of which were German)), then it was sky digital, now sky+ (but even that's not so posh these days). When I was very little teletext was something just richer relatives had.

Also my mum tells me how amazed she is at the price of smoked salmon these days whenever we get some.
