Hi guys, thought I would update you all on the sample we ordered from pure invitation. It came in the week and is really lovely. We had ordered the pocket fold one so that we can add RSVP, directions and accomodation details into the invite. It's really good quality and looks lovely and the only thing we had to do was print the insert and glue some flaps etc. We had ordered the pearlised golden ivory and although it's lovely it's a little too dark for what we wanted, so we are going to order another sample in the new pale ivory they have-and this brings the cost down from £1.91 each to £1.79 each, so even better. I'm also going to order a sample of their order of service and rsvp cards-so will keep you updated.
At the minute the order of service are working out the most expensive. Does anyone know, do we provide one per guest or can you double up?? We have to provide them for the choir too. I'm guessing it's one per guest, which is why the cost is greater because with the invites we have alot of couples and families, so although we have 60 day time guests we only need 25 invites! :T0 -
i would do one for every two guests, well thats what im planning to do for my cousins wedding0

I have no idea about order of service, I think the church supply them... Haven't had a meeting yet, that's the trouble when you're pally with the clergy, you tend to get a bit blasé about it all lol.A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Well we thought we had the stationery sorted, but pure invitation do not do the inserts or RSVP's in their new pale ivory. I ordered them and they told me to use the pearlised golden ivory or white-not exactly coordinated then is it! So back to square one

hi churches provide hymn books, they don't provide orders of service, you have to do them yourself, you also need to get their copywrite number for them if you're doing it yourself otherwise you're breaking the law. All these rules and regs that you don't realise until you're told in wedding prep. classes.
Fay - can you not take what they've done and make something similar yourself, if you need help etc them pm me, you're guarenteed (well almost) that you can do it cheaper than you can buy it elsewhere.0 -
Thanks Lemon Tree. Our church is not quite the traditional one though, we don't have hymn books and things...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... To save you stressing about getting your invites now how about sending save the date cards? These can be sent now with little information, for example:
Save the date!
x and x are getting married in (town name) on (date)
Invitations to follow with full details.
These can be single sided and very easily made up on your own comp
You can then worry about the invites much later on, maybe end of the summer. But everyone knows the date and knows to take the day off

With save the date cards then, would you just send them to the people you're intending to invite to the day? Because our venue is a good hour's drive away I feel I also need to give the evening people a head's up...but if we send a save the date card they might presume we mean the whole day. It's all very confusing.
I think we would rather send the invitations sooner and then we can plan what to do if/when we get some people that can't attend. We really struggled to come up with 60 people (venue's min number) that we wanted there-not because we don't know that many people, but we didn't want them at the whole day!0 -
guess they must be used to the need for orders of service then, possibly they do do them for you. Wish mine would it would save a fair bit of work i've yet to start and am worried about getting the printing right on them. We've also got one more hymn to pick before i can even get started on them.0
