i'm making my own stationery as well, i've not opted for the cheapest option - typical crafter and my ideas ran away with me :) but i know i'm paying less than £1 per card for something which would have cost over £4 if we had bought them from a professional. I've also followed some advice from a lovely person on here and have almost finished our guest book, i'm so chuffed with it, can't wait to show it off to everyone.

It's really easy to make a matching guest book and a photo album.

Mine cost about £3.00 at the most and the majority of the spending was on the me to you bear card which I cut up to decorate it.

The photo album is on my list of things to do when my local pound shop has some more artists pads in.
Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended :p

have bought my wedding invitations from Dunelm, they were 79p for a pack of 6 handcrafted invites with envelopes. The tags said they were £8 a pack. So have 24 packs for less than £19. Bargain. :T

Thanks guys, I will check out the websites. Very typical that I saw some I liked last night but was very tired and did not bookmark the page and now cannot find which site it was! Doh If anyone comes across a website where you can put your colour theme in, could you let me know!

Thanks again guys and good luck to you all :)

I bought mine from Dunelm too. 49p per pack of 10! I couldn't believe my luck that they were still in stock (heard about them on here). Got 70 invites for £3.47 Very MSE!! I've also spotted lots of nice invitations on ebay going really cheaply.

I've also found this website guys http://www.weddingparaphernalia.co.uk/index.htm they are not the cheapest but they do the pocket fold invitations that I want and I can still customise them and make a table plan etc to match because they sell the card too. Not sure if I am going to go with them yet though.

These also do some good ones too http://www.weddingdiy.co.uk/shop/scripts/default.asp and you get the template for printing your own wording from them.

Also, I like ones from here http://www.pureinvitation.co.uk/

  • Hi Fay

I made all of our wedding stationary and it looked great (even if I do say so myself!!). I bought stuff from Craft Creations - you can find them on web - and they were really helpful. It took ages but I'm pleased I did as it was really personal and I was particular about colour schemes too so got it to match.

    Have a great day!

Just had a look at the pureinvitation site and it looks great.
One of the cheapest ive come across and it saves you the time as well!!
Was told off by someone selling invitations at a wedding fayre and told to leave them till about 3 months beforehand!! The people at those types of things can be so cheeky and rude.

How rude of someone to tell you what to do with your wedding! The cheek of it. We are thinking of sending out invites about 6 months before, due to it being a friday and we are also only having a small wedding (60 daytime guests) and therefore if people cannot come we will need to get more invitations and think of more people to ask. It's up to you when you decide to do things, not people in the business!

I have just ordered a sample of the pocket fold invitation from pure invitation...I will let you know what it's like!
