Wedding stationery

Hi everyone
We are getting married next february and have booked the church and venue etc, and we are getting married on a friday. We therefore want to get the invitations out early to give people plenty of warning for booking days off etc. However, we are having a bit of a struggle with stationery-it's sooooo expensive!
We are having quite an expensive venue and want to cut costs on areas that we can and stationery seems an ideal place to do this. So I'm looking for a bit of help and advice. Does anyone know or can recommend a good supplier, or a make your own website where you can download templates for the inserts etc. I'm not massively crafty but I can do some things.
This wedding business is very exciting but very stressful financially!
Thanks everyone

Hello
Congrats.... I have found Hobbycraft to be every girls dream!!! I am not at all crafty but the have some simple cards with ideas to make your own and its quite inexpensive. I have made all 75 invites 50 evening invites and 75 order of services!!!!
They sometimes have good deals to so keep your eyes peeled for one in your area...
Hope that helps
Good Luck0 -
The Range is also great for bits and pieces. I've found them to be cheaper than hobbycraft.
If you need some ideas have a look at this site - they have loads of cards that you could adapt and they even give you a list of the products you will need. You do need to register to get access to the full gallery.

I'm using vistaprint postcards for my inserts and managed to get 500 for under £8.
I used 2 free offers from them so only had to pay P&P on each lot of 250Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

Hi, I ordered my vista print ones at weekend, they do loads of freebie, if you sign up to there email, they bombard you with free offers of say 25 free and you have to just pay postage, but over the weekend they had a free postage weekend if you spend over £20 so got day invites, evening invites, rspv's and some Thankyou cards all for £25.
These are all personalised and if you compare to tesco i thought this was really reasonable0 -
Good luck! I made my cousin's wedding invites. I got ideas from looking at samples from Debenhams etc. I bought paper roses, card and ribbon from ebay and then just stuck the lot together (in a slightly more artistic fashion than that sounds). The finished product looked as good as the invites that cost £3 a card imho, but at a fraction of the price - definitely worth doing! In a Den first, Theo Paphitis has been getting business information from a talking tree.0

i would highly recommend making your own cards ... they then have the person touch , look very expensive but the outlay cost is smaller than buying ready made ... and then print the inserts from your pc ... practice layouts and fonts etc on cheap paper and then when your happy print final layout insert on nice paper , cutout and then glue inside your handmade cards !!
the plus to this is you can also colour match to your theme .. and style them to suit you ! ... you can buy stickers or stamps saying invites etc ... really easy if you plan it well !!0 -
