I know that it is early day for using the "Pampers Feel & Learn nappies / trainers ".. but has anyone tried them out. Are they any good?? ((MOrrisons are selling them as BOGOF at the moment.))
I found out that you can get washable pull up nappy/trainer pant called Minki YoYo. I am thinking of using them because they will hold the wee & poo like a nappy... and you can pull them on and off like pants. And the other thing is that my son would be able to tell straight away that he has done something in them because they will feel wet.
Also does anyone know of a good toilet trainer seat. I have looked at the ones in Mothercare and the best one I say does not fit well on the toilet seat ....so that it does not slide around when my son its on it.

Don't know.
I'm having problem with my 2 year old at minute. If she wanders round with nothing on she uses potty, if she wears nappies she's hit and miss sometimes she takes it off to use potty, sometimes she messes in nappy. If I put her in cotton knickers she doesn't realise you have to pull them down and wets them.
Wondering if I should try pull-ups too0 -
Currently going through the wee on the potty stage. We cracked the going for a poo on the toilet ages ago but we are still getting wet underpants, although he wets them slightly he goes straight for the potty and does a very big wee...so i guess its coming..patience has never been a word used to describe me but since becoming a mummy by god have i had to learn it!!:rotfl:
Cant help with trainers etc. as i went straight for underpants but i am contemplating pyjama pants for the night time sessions.
As for toilet seats i bought the 2-in toilet seat from mothercare..it is the one that had a child seat and an adult seat together. A little bit pricey but i found those ones that sit on top just keep sliding all over the place. http://www.mothercare.com/invt/ls3619&bklist=Brendan's new dance partner...please0 -
From my experience, pull-ups/taining pants just confuse them!!I'd go for regular underwear (perhaps with favourite character on e.g. Bob The Builder) My son would use the potty if had nothing on, but when wore pants, would just wet them. It takes time, patience and gentle reminding/encouragement. My son wouldn't use the potty for poos - we started giving him a sticker if he ever did one on potty/toilet and he soon grasped it.
As an aside, some kids just aren't ready to do it at 2 anyway - my oldest was 3 before he was trained (and even then it was, and still is, difficult!) Just take it as it comes, don't put any pressure on him and he'll do it when he's ready!
Its hard work though!!!!!20p Saver Club #33 60p/£100

trainer nappy or pull ups work on the same principle as nappies and as the are nowadays so absorbant (to prevent nappy rash) when a child wees in them. the concept of potty training is to get the child to identify that they are wet as a result of a wee wee and thats where the bladder control comes in as the feeling prior to, during and after weeing builds their cognitive ability to potty train.
i personally wouldn't promote pull ups as i believe they actually hinder the process.
i'm afraid you'll just have to go through the "motions".
the best thing is to be relaxed and chilled out and the little darling will do it whenGive blood - its free0 -
I think the pull-ups are just a way for manufacturers to keep making money out of people TBH!
I don't think they help children to potty-train any sooner but are, obviously, less messy when it comes to the inevitable accidents! They are so much more expensive than standard nappies.
I used pants - lots of them! :rolleyes:0 -
I bought a toilet seat from asda i think it was made by a co called zorbit has pictures of fish on it was about £6-99 this you just place on top of yr normal toilet seat it is padded and stops the child falling in on a normal toliet seat. As for towelling pants i bought 4 prs from boots at £4-99 each and was told by shop assistant to wash them 6 times in washing machine before using them to plump up the towelling inside they were rubbish comaplined to head office who said to return to store for refund 2 weeks later got a £20 gift card from head office for inconvenience and for having to wash 6 times before use. I used huggies pull ups as much thinner than pampers pull ups but when yr child is ready put them in normal knickers or pants as when they start to use the toilet it makes them feel grown up I also bought kandoo step stool wipes and handwash to encourage my daughter with a routine and used the sticker reward system.0

We had three pairs of kushies cloth training pants which we used if we were going out anywhere in the early days. They were fab as they did the job. Seems daft that people are now paying for a disposable that FEELS like cloth pants :rotfl: . Why not just use cloth pants? Cheaper in the long run. I even sold ours on once we didn't need them any more.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 002 :rotfl:0

My husband is a nursery nurse and he never let me use pull-ups on out two when they were training as he said the children still feel like they are wearing a nappy and just wee and poo in them llike a normal nappy. I only used them once when I had a free sample, I didn't realise that you tore them to get them off, so my poor little boy had a right mess down his legs as I tried to wriggle the stupid thing off him!! I wouldn't get them anyway as they are so expensive!
I left mine as long as possible before training them. My first was 3.5, and my second was 3. Boys always take longer than girls, but leave them as long as possible. I had no problems with them at all - they got it almost straight away, whereas my friend (who had trained hers at 2), 2 years later, still has problems with them wetting during the day. As for night time, my little boy was at school before I let him go without a nappy at night (he got the idea no problem!) and has been dry ever since, and my little girl who is nearly 4 is still in nappies at night.
There is no rush to train them, be patient, they'll get it when they need to and don't waste your money on pull-ups!Accepted offer on our house - Sept 2006
