Anyone used AIG Direct for House Insurance?

House insurance is up for renewal and AIG Direct are coming in at one of the cheaper quotes yet the policy seems better than others, 400k contents cover as standard etc. Also there is £90 quidco cashback :D

Before I take it out with AIG (Been with Directline for the last 6 years) would anyone advise against using AIG Direct, any horror story claims etc or have been been impressed with them if they've had to claim?

Thanks

    Hi jonny,

I've never heard of them before, but imagine one company's as good as another. I've just had a quick google and found this review, though it's actually on car insurance. http://www.asrecommended.co.uk/insurance/car/reviews/

Try typing reviews in aig direct home insurance and see what it comes up with.

    Good luck, Sue

They are well known (within industry) and they often come up cheapest and their service seems fine.

Is your quidco tracking yet? Just took out buildings & contents with them through quidco & was wondering how long before it shows up?

Took out a policy yesterday with them, I now have 5x £90 tracking in quidco.I can't see them all validating but would be nice lol.I did ring AIG just to make sure I only had on1 policy with them and not 5.Not sure what happened

  • I have recently taken out car insurance with this company as they worked out the cheapest for me and with the £90 Quidco it made it even better.

Mine tracked on Quidco by the next day, the only gripe I have with them is that they took the £50 deposit (I'm paying it monthly) 3 weeks before my policy was due to start, everything seems to be good so far, I got my insurance documents within a few days.

  • I am thinking of taking out separate policies with aig for buildings and contents (2 x £90 cashback via quidco). Anybody tried this?
