Awww, thank you so much CocoD, that really means a lot to me. And congrats to you, two years since you bought your own place :D How are you enjoying it?

Thanks tara747. I'm loving it, all the hard work to get here was so worth it. I used to come on here religiously and everyone's updates on progress, be it £100 or £1000, were so motivating.

Crazy to think it's nearly two years. I still remember stripping wallpaper like it was recently and feeling anxious that someone was going to come in and tell me off for vandalising their house. It took a while to sink in that it was mine! It's still a bit surreal but it's definitely home. I love opening the door when I get in from work.

Keep going everyone :T:T:T you are doing amazingly xx

    I'm back... sort of!

So had a few years of hell after being made redundant in 2013. Since then I've lost the will to live on JSA, embarked on a full time degree course, managed to get myself a first class degree (and in heaps of student debt). Now hopefully in a better position for job hunting!

During all of this the house deposit saving plan went on ice, but this month I managed to put £100 into my save to buy ISA!

So happy :) its going to be baby steps at first but I am back onto my mission :)

Just need to recalculate how much I need for a West London deposit, get a job and save save save...

    Total deposit so far £13,600.00
Aspiring to be financially independent.... from my parents!

Hello all! I'm joining in if that's okay...

My OH and I have set a rough 18 month - 2 year target of buying a house. Mainly because he's self-employed and with banks tightening the purse strings he may need three years worth of tax returns rather than two, but I think next year we will approach a broker and see what they say just to see whether it would be possible next year... (I'm trying not to get my hopes up about this too much :D)

I currently have about £12,100 to my name and my partner has around £7000 - we both have help to buys. Our target is to save around £35,000 by next March/April...we're both very like-minded fortunately and we don't want to buy before we're definitely ready financially (AND emotionally :rotfl: )

Everyone is doing amazingly well - like others have said seeing it all add up just makes you feel great! :j
