    Hi Tara
I look after a little girl who used to go to the Nursery I work in. I take her to school 3 mornings a week and pick her up once so £100 came from that.
I also was looking after a couple of kids and their brother and sister from work on Saturday and got £40.
I do also work for a babysitting agency and get regular work from them. Which is great for extra cash and boosting my savings :D

I must register with one myself! I used to love babysitting when I was in my teens, it was such easy money and they usually went to bed before I arrived :)

It's great to see your savings pot growing isn't it

I work for Sitters and they only take on qualified child carers, I'm sure there are alot of other agencies about as well - it might be worth putting an advert on gumtree, or in your local newsagent to advertise your services

I have news on the house buying front!

Me and my girlfriend were looking around and we came accross a new build by barrats only a few miles from the town where we live now.

They do a 5% gift deposit incentive for first time buyers and we saw a show home of a new 3 bed house we really liked and could afford.

Including the 5% gift, we can just about get a 20% deposit together with a little extra cash for the moving costs (including carpet which doesnt come as standard! shocking!).

We have put down a "we want first dibs on this plot when it comes available for sale" marker. So when it does, we will have 48 hours to decide if we want it. Sales woman said it wud be about June for a september completion.

Thats about it for now. Were not committed to it, but if we haven't found anything by June then its a definite possibility we will go for it!

I haven't posted on here in ages but I was a regular when the thread first started. OH and I have saved steadily for 5 years now and have finally saved up a 20% deposit. We've found a house, offered 3% below asking (the asking was our maximum budget), been accepted, signed the mortgage papers yesterday and are now waiting with bated breath for the survey/ valuation to be done. fingers crossed everything turns out ok and we could actually own our own home by April-May!!!! Really really excited.

So everyone's who's plugging away - keep at it! You will get there eventually.
