  • I do find it strange that forex traders are not wanting to buy sterling when it is at such a very low level. Clearly saying the british economy is like a banana republic would be insulting to banana republics.
  • wahey... over 1.08

  • Well the rate got up to 1.089. It is now back at 1.084. So those pesky swiss (and others probably) are still attacking the pound.
  • Actually I think they are now toying with the pound because it is so easy to mess with it at present. They are buying it to push the value up a bit and then selling to push it down and then buying again, etc. ...
  • I have been living in Europe and therefore have been earning in Euros. What is the best way for me to change my money to pounds when I return?

It's quite a lot so I'm not really wanting to carry cash home with me but if this is the best option to get the best return then I will consider it.

Many thanks for any help offered :T

at the end of the day, that is the job of a foreign exchange trader
on a day like today with little news to swing the market, all they can do is have little fun and try and make some money i guess:confused:

doesn't much help the man in the street trying to work out the best time to get his currency though

assuming you still have a Bank Account in UK, ask them how much to transfer your EURO's over, and how competitive they're exchange rate is...

My point was that sterling is an easy target at present. They can mess with it because it is a weak currency with no protection.

It's the governments job to protect the currency. They are failing badly.
