O2 announced last summer that they would launch no new i-mode handsets. They said they'd carry on selling existing ones though til stock ran out so you may find one somewhere- argos maybe? I-mode services will carry on being supported for 2yrs from the announcement (unless anything has changed), meaning you can use i-mode til around july 09.If this has been of any use please click on THANKS, it makes me look good.0

Oh, bug ger!
Why is that.. has it not been popular?
The reason I love it is I can send free emails (in the same way you can send texts).
Is there any other phones you can send emails from (without having to log into hotmail etc on wap)?I Hate Jobsworths!!!0 -
I suspect the problem is lack of adoption. IMode is only really big in Japan. To take it to another country, the handsets have to support the language, have to pass local compliance laws (e.g. for radio interference), etc. All this costs money and I guess they figured other networks would take on IMode as well (which would make the cost of handsets cheaper) but they didn't so it doesn't make sense just for them to do it at a higher cost. The thanks button is here to the right. If you find a post saves you money, gives you useful information, or you agree with it, take a second to thank the poster!
