Despite just about everybody expecting this rate cut, it wasn't as much a certainty as most people thought. The minutes released today, show the vote was 5-4 in favour of a rate cut. Most people thought they would be only 1 or 2 people voting against. Those that did vote against a rate cut included the BoE Governor and deputy Governor. This has surprised most Economists who were expecting this to be the start of a trend of rate cuts. Further rate cuts this year now appear unlikely.hansi wrote:Interest rate cut to 4.5%.0 -

Non Introductory savings 4.85%
Introductory savings 5.30%0 -
