Pollybear - not fair, us talking about diets and then you showing that lush looking coffee cake!

DD2 collected from nursery stopped off on way home for more fruit;) . Email back from ballet school and girls can go for taster session on Saturday at 9am. Mentioned it to DH and he was all for him doing the ballet run on a Saturday:j , actually thought it would be a nice idea:D .

House tidied through, bathroom done (need to wash shower curtain again). Could do with a HHI session but not sure if DD2 will leave me in peace long enough to get it done, she is currently attacking the dressing up box. Best go drink my cuppa and put the ironing board up me thinks. Also need to:

    Post parcel
    Get B.Day card for FIL
    Get towels from TD
    Put BM on for rolls
    Stew some apples
Watch hazards DVD for theory test
  • Pollybear OMG that cake looks Amazing - Yummy

pigpen - men think the Housework Fairy cleans it all up - I am not a Man Basher....but....I think they come in three catergories-
    1. Does Nowt
    2. Does ONLY really obvious things (staring him in the face) oh and requires a medal for doing it :T
    3. Complete Cleaning Nut
I am glad I don't have a 3, because I'd feel on edge all the time...

    I couldn't have a 1.

So I shouldn't grumble for having a 2, but that doesn't stop me :rotfl: :rotfl:

I must have a 1.25 then.. he does nowt normally but if I nag he will do something and if we run out of pots he will load the DW.

I want a 3.. PLEEEEEEEAAAAASSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEE ... if it meant I didn't have to do it and could do the stuff which never gets done as I am too busy trying to keep our heads above junk

So many different experiences with washers, mine are on daily, usually a couple of times a day. Don't make them like they used to do rings a bell, same with my old TD, just posted on the TD thread I had a Phillips one bought to do my terry nappies with by my parents, it was about 30 years old when the heater and motor went, until that time it needed a belt which was £12 or something, you'd never get a new model to last that long.

Roofs done, lovely guy, feel a little guilty that he wouldn't take any more for doing it, but it's just sideline work for him now as he does property developments. He did say that in his opinion the whole lot will likely need replacing in the next couple of years, just down to the age of them now, but I'm not bothered about that really, not my worry. One aspect of renting I do really like is that I don't have to worry about things like roof work, building work etc, some say rentings throwing money away but to me it's money well spent paying for some else to worry about things like that.

Right, housework, not done loads, day seems to be dragging over, I've had a look at the next assignment which doesn't look too bad and think I will make a start on that in a mo.
One day I might be more organised...........
    GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb

By the way, did anyone see GMTV this morning, they were saying something about scraping homework for primary schools. What do you all think? I agree to a point, maybe they should start intoducing it in year 6 (which I think is what they did when I was at school) so that they are ready for high school. My dd1 is the biggest pain ever to get her to do her homework. She had some maths and she also had to write a diary for the weekend. Sunday about 3pm she did half the maths and then Monday morning, before school she finished the maths and did the diary. Moaning and complaining the whole time. She is only 6 mind.

I don't EVER make my little ones do their homework and the bigger ones learned the hard way.. if it doesn't get done they have detentions.. they only do it once!!

DS1 always does his on the bus on the way to school.

DD1 is a swot and does hers before she gets out of class or at lunchtime

DS2 does his on a break time or lunch time at school.. good excuse to stay inside in the warm plus if he needs help the teacher is around to help if he asks..

DD2 goes up to high school in September and at the moment does her homework while eating her breakfast the day it has to be handed in.. she'll learn.

the other 4 don't do any unless it is something they choose to do!!! I wouldn't ever force it and I tell the teachers so!

DS3 doesn't do his on purpose.. they have 'homework club' on a breaktime 2 or 3 times a week and he likes going there.. it is supposed to be a 'detention' but he loves it so saves his homework to do then lol.

Guys still not arrived to replace doorframe, I could have taken DS2 to nursery after all!

I also groomed the dog, he now smells of baby powder and is most upset, especially as I threatened to buy him a pink collar and vest if he didn't sit still so I could get his tail. His tail sits in a coil over his back and the hair is so long and bushy, really pretty as he is white, but hard to keep tangle free!
