My new cooker

YAY!!
Big surprise just now, they came to deliver and fit my new cooker!
Woo - hoo ! ! !
So I've got some BIG Thank You's to write.
One to SSAFA the Soldiers', Sailors', Airmen and Families Association who are the people who got to work to find sources to help me...
..one to the Royal Naval Benevolent Trust who provided the funds for the cooker itself...
..and one to the British Legion who sourced the cooker and who arranged delivery and the payment for that and the installation.
Each of these help not only ex service people but their dependants too - so if you know of an ex service family or the widow of a serviceman who could benefit from some help by all means bring these charity organisations to their attention.
Signed,
One very happy squeaky!

So when are we coming round for tea? I'm free Sunday....oooh look only about 220 posts and I got round to doing my Avatar already!!0 -
LOL and thanks to all
I can't quite decide between toast or pizza for my first experiment.
No toast for FIVE WEEKS!!!
Right now it's stinking the house out because I doing the "burning off" thing - something I've never had to do before because I've never owned a brand new cooker before.
I think I'll give it short rest and then do the burn again before using it.
As for Sunday tea... sure - just follow the smell of a cake wafting down the A14Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. Does this mean that all your building work is finished and you can get back to normal now?0
-
Nope, not finished. I still need all the windows done, a double cupboard base unit fitted, the kitchen fan and a complete wall made good there, plus the outside gable end wall.
But it's mostly done, I can see the end result and I can use the kitchen properly now even though there's still work to do.
Then lots of finishing and refitting of shelves, curtains etc to do.

I'm pleased that you can see the end result emerging through the mess.
We bought our current cooker 15 years ago, it's a freestanding one with 4 halogen rings and a lit-up control panel. We waited till it was dark then turned the lights off in the kitchen, pulled up 2 chairs and looked at the cooker all lit up...sad, sad, sad.....0
