My ds got a w580i from the o2 shop in January, it cost him £79.99 because
he traded in a very old phone (they knocked £30 off the price).

make sure it's not one of the first 'batch' of faulty phones !0

My g/f has had two faulty W580i's they both constantly freeze up. The first Orange replaced for her but won't budge on a replacement for the second one despite it being just as bad as the first.
Key lesson avoid both Orange and W580i.0 -
I wouldnt bother with this handset if I were you. I have just sent my daughters W580i off to S.E. today as 2 numbers on the keypad have split down the middle and 4 numbers have actually fallen off!
Quite possibly the worst handset we have ever owned. But I suppose she's done much better than other people with this phone. Its lasted 6 months as oppose to 2 weeks, 6 weeks, 3 months etc.
Just google "faulty w580i" and you'll see what I mean.0 -
I'm having problems with my W580i, the hash key is broken (half of it has chipped off) but this is the space key in texting and isn't working very well. I'm still in contract, so who do I contact about it, t mobile or sony ericsson? I bought the phone from mobileoutlet which has been liquidated so am I stuck?
ALSO. I have dropped the phone a few times but can't see why this would crack the keys, I've dropped all my phones and this has never happened before?0 -

My W580i is fine, although when it got dropped into a load of orange juice for ages without me noticing I thought it was kaput. After leaving it on the side over night it was right as rain.
I've had mine now for at least 6 months, I love it.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -
Hi, just thought I'd give you any update on my W580i. It came back from SE last Saturday 22/03. The very next day the return key fell off. Yesterday the whole number keypad fell off  . After speaking to SE customer services yet again I've been advised to send it back to them for the second time. Not happy at all, surely the handset should be replaced. I'm seriously considering contacting Trading Standards as I'm so p***ed off!0

Key lesson avoid both Orange and W580i.
AGREED!!! 3 faulty phones, each of which lasting under a week, from orange who still continue to sell them knowing they are faulty.....will only be refusing you a replacement on the 2nd one as they have to, for some unknown reason, go through their area manager to get a 3rd replacement!!
Totally unreasonable when ask for a refund and the "managers" in a store seem unable to give out refunds! currently involved in a case with trading standards and orange due to their admission of the phone being known to be faulty and refusing a refund!!
NEVER BUY THIS PHONE!!!!0 -

Couldn't agree more. I am on my 3rd w580i, and the plastic is falling off. Also from Orange, they also refused me a refund. Please let me know how you get on with trading standards. So so SO tired of being ripped off, and mislead
Hope sharing saves some pain.0
