Tiscali and iMac don't mix!

I (unlike some others on these forums) have had no problemss with Tiscali for 18 months. However, I have recently switched from an elderly PC to an iMac and have discovered the pitfalls of being with Tiscali.
1. Their Sagem800 ADSL modem doesn't have a driver for Mac OSX 10.4
2. Tiscali do not support mac users - when I ran into difficulties trying to connect, the Tiscali helpline told me to ring Apple!!
3. I now have a 30 day wait to unhook from Tiscali before I can go with a new ISP who will supply a decent ethernet ADSL modem and Mac support.
Tiscali may be a cheap provider, but when it comes to support they are useless!

DO NOT USE AN USB MODEM WITH A MAC
Go get a cheap ethernet router modem and use that.
It does not matter what kind of computer you plug in to it.
I use a netgear DG834 around £60 and you configure it using a web browser.
Very easy to set up, even non technical people can do it.
Enjoy your iMac and don't believe folk who tell you that you can't do this or that with an apple. Most are talking through ignorance. I have rarely been stuck using a mac for something.
Best of all NO viruses or malware (yet!!!!)0
