I'd like to make the malt loaf from the MR Fastbake breadmaker recipe book.

Where can I buy malt extract and has anyone tried this recipe?!!
    Thanks heaps!

  • The little chemists by me sells it, and I think you can get it in most health food shops.

I looked on Boots online and they've got it so I expect other chemists would too - and maybe health food stores?

    Hi acemoola,

There's an earlier thread that should help with finding malt extract so I've added your thread to it to keep all the suggestions together.

Try the home brewing section or HB shops - it's the basis of most beer kits.

I looked at boots stuff and they only had it with cod liver oil, not sure what it would taste like.

I found it in holland and barratt
Lets get this straight. Say my house is worth £100K, it drops £20K and I complain but I should not complain when I actually pay £200K via a mortgage:rolleyes:

Ask your local pharmacy, I managed to order it at one a while ago for making malt loaf.

Oh gosh, does this take me back! As a child I used to regularly be given a spoonful of malt extract. My sister hated it, but I loved it - haven't tasted it for years, so I'll be trying Holland and Barrett at the w/e!
