My debt of about £300 (which has know amounted to probably well over £1000 now) has been passed from lots if debt collection agencies and I have not heard anything for a few years, but now I have received a letter from 1st credit saying about it. I thought after a certain time of no contact from you they wrote the debt off? The debt is in my maiden name and think they have tracked me from my partner accidentally putting my maiden name on the council tax application.0

The debt becomes statue barred after 6 yearsfrom the last correspondence where the debt was acknowledged. If its been a long time I would ignore the letters or string it out by asking for proof of the debt. Making sure yiu dont acknowledge the debt when doing that.:j0
