Hi dd - they just don't seem to be getting the message, do they?
You should write again, keeping copies of all letters, and tell them that your husband will only communicate with them by letter.
I would, also contact NDL - 0808 808 4000 and ask them for some advice.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

You could send them a 'harassment by telephone' letter. Send it recorded delivery so you have proof that they have received it.
Dear Sirs
Harassment by telephone
FORMAL COMPLAINT UNDER THE CONSUMER CREDIT ACT 2006 COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE
Account Number: XXXXXXX
I am writing in relation to the quantity and frequency of telephone calls that I have received from your company, which I deem to be personally harassing.
I have verbally requested that these stop, but I am still receiving calls. (Delete if necessary)
I now require all further correspondence from your company to be made in writing only.
I am of the view that your continued harassment of me by telephone puts you in breach of Section 40 of the Administration of Justice Act 1970, and the Protection from Harassment Act 1997.
If you continue to harass me by telephone, you will also be in breach of the Communications Act (2003) s.127 and I will report you to OFCOM, Trading Standards and The Office of Fair Trading, meaning that you will be liable to a substantial fine.
Please treat this also as a formal complaint, and send me a copy of your company complaints procedure.
Be advised that any further telephone calls from your company will be recorded. (**Even if you don‘t yet have recording equipment!!**)
Yours faithfully,

My insticts say write a letter stating alon gthe lines of
" I have offered you token payments I have offered you F&F figure I can afford. I have repetely told you I will not discuss this matter on the phone however you have asked repetedly that I call your office and continualy ignore any effort on my part to remedy this situation."

Hi Devons
,
I can't believe they've even acknowledged your FAFO... I'd say your making progress... but it's difficult... are they playing good cop bad cop? You know lull you into a full sense of security by acknowledging your FAFO, and then going for the kill if you did phone them?
Just spotted your DFW thread, good advice from rog2 again...use that link for dealing with FAFO's
What about something along the lines of .... Thank you for your latest correspondence acknowledging my FAFO. I would really appreciate the opportunity to bring this situation to a close, though as previously stated, I will not be corresponding via telephone either now, or at any point in the future (re-insert reasons about your OH to really drive the point home - mind you is that possible? ...something tells me you can't penetrate a 12 foot thick wall that easily ) basically trying to appeal to their better nature (contradiction in terms ay?)... maybe adding of your disappointment in their constant rebuttals in acknowledging your wish that the matter be dealt with by letter... bit of a mouthful?
I'm wondering if you may be in for a war of attrition, which I think, you are doing well in... keep up the sterling work Devonsdreamer :T

I have just done a google of 1st credit and read an interesting article about how much profits they made last year- dosent make me want to scrimp, save and generally live like a pauper to try to give them morethan I can afford.
I am going to use the letter kindly provided by Rog and also add in some more as you suggested about Hubby - honestly the trouble it causes cause he wont talk on the phone!! I almost gave in and was going to call them getting him to grunt persmiison for me to speak with them BUT I shall continue as I planned and stick to the letter- The irony is it is costing me a fortune in postage and that comes out of our food budget! Oh wellDon't get strung out by the way I look,
