Can you have more than one contract mobile?

I was wondering if you can have more than one contract mobile phone. I have been with orange for 2 years on my current contract paying £30 a month however there are some some great deals on CPW, also with Orange but with a free TV, half price line rental and quidco cashback of course.
Can I take out another contract via quidco now, cancel the orange to PAYG and then port my number. Or does it not work like that.
I am a bit dim when it comes to mobiles and the like, LOL, but my phone has had it and it seems daft to pay the same when I can get a free TV and cashback as well.
Many thanks.

I have 2. both for myself, both underused. I do work for a network though, and it's more about new skiney toys (phones) than anything else! It's quite common amongst the (esp younger) staff at work to have 2 or even 3 contracts, and maybe even a couple of PAYGs on top lol.
The only thing i'd raise is that you mention you're thinking of getting the new contract, cancelling the original one to PAYG then bringing your number back up to contract on the new one ('Love Your Number'-ing)... Strictly speaking, that's not allowed. The by-the-book way would be to cancel to PAYG, then get the new contract, connecting it as a PAYG-PAYM port straight away... Otherwise, you might find you dont get the original number transferred.
Only a little thing, but id rather mention it than see it come back and bite you, lol!On the up
