What a fantastic little sub post this has become although I am slightly confused as to the "trouble" that Staples are in:

    "Staples have sacked staff.
    Staples have closed stores
Staples have slashed product lines, perhaps putting suppliers out of business.
Staples have merged with Office World, closing more stores, sacking more staff."

When DADADA mentions this above is he blaming MSE's for the this or the evil cut and thrust of business?

Maybe they were once in trouble about 5 years ago but as far as I can see they aint any more:

    Martket Cap: $16.4bn
Share price trading at all-time highs
    Profits last full year: $708m
    Profits to Jan 02: $265m
    % rise in profits: 268%

No. of employees in 2002: 29,909
No. of employees in 2005: 33,577

Net net an increase in jobs.

Now does this sound like a struggling company or one with good management who knows how to efficiently cut costs in whilst keeping the revenue coming in.

Also, do you know honestly think that when companies put these offers on, they are not intelligent enough to work out how much it may cost them. If not, they should not be in business in the first place. Companies can easily change the T&C of offers to be more cost effective as I'm sure you already know.

and yet they dont bother updating their fing office world site which states that office world in slough is still open......its only taken them 2 years to remove slough from it......i am taking them to court over it as I made a pointless journey to their shop which didnt exist....its taken them 8 weeks to respond to my email as well.....American crud

Thanks dadada, wouldn't have seen the free electric screwdriver set if you hadn't have caused the fuss. Let us know if your business puts out any free offers.
  • The new code works fine , says he as he cradles his new screwdriver set in his lap !

    Cheers Hellofreebies & OP :T
  • Nice one, just got my screwdriver set a day after the pencil I ordered arrived, I used the second code posted by hellofreebies too.

Big up to Rti and hellofreebies, nicely done.

    :rotfl:
  • Thanks! My free electric screwdriver arrived this morning, along with my 29p 6inch Helix ruler :D
Woohoo, not bad for my first visit to the forums!
And I can confirm I have now been offered the free toolkit mentioned in the other Staples post with my next order. I think I will be completing my stationary collection with the purchase of a 34p pencil eraser.

    Thanks again!

    Thankx Hellofreebies,

Right code. Screwdriver set arrived yesterday with roller glue (that I wanted). Not a bad set for a freebie.

    Hi pjala,

I don't consider I caused a "fuss", I consider I raised some valid points for mature discussion. There is a difference.

How will I find you ? Please post your contact details.

Also, in the interests of fairness for everyone to take advantage of free offers, please let us know about your "business", so we can investigate what loopholess and opportunities exist. (By business, I mean your main line of income as I presume you are an employee rather than an entrepreneur).
