A curious problem has arisen which I would be grateful for some advice.
I have Sky multiroom (upstairs and downstairs), and have "upgraded" the box downstairs to receive Setanta Sports. This has been fine since I subscribed about 6 months ago.
However, since the middle of this week I have lost Setanta 1 and 2, Setanta Golf, Rangers and Celtic channels (the screen either reports a technical fault or no signal being received). I do however still receive Setanta Ireland, Arsenal, Liverpool and NASN, which are part of the Setanta subscription. As far as I can see, every other channel (Sky and free ones) are also available. Very occassionally, I am able to receive the lost Setanta channels, but usually I am unable to receive anything.
I have contacted Setanta who recommend getting someone out to realign my dish. I have looked on the various forums (digital spy) but have found conflicting advice (some say its Setantas problem, some say the box is faulty, others say its likely the dish has moved slightly in the winds). The signal level/quality on the system menu is about 80%, but I understand this is not a good indication.
Before I phone up someone out of the yellow pages, can anyone suggest what the problem may be, or recommend anything to try out. I have thought about getting up a ladder and moving the dish a bit, but if I do this I will probably lose my Sky channels!
All advice most welcome.

Setanta is not married to the box so you can take the card out and move it to your other box. This will tell you if it is your box or not. You appear to have lost all of the stations on 12560 H. There are only Setanta stations here. The other Setanta stations that you receive are from a different transponder 11585 H.Something Really Interesting0

I also have Sky multiroom with Setanta on my old Pace Reciever and Sky HD on the other subscibtion of the same Quad LNB. Tried signal test on 12560 H on both recievers good reception on HD reciever although no Setanta subscription. But Pace reciever gives me a good signal for 1 second and then says no signal recieved on Setanta 1 and 2 and Rangers and Celtic Channels. No problems before this week Came on last night for a while Have swapped lnb connections around also, still the same. Davidlizard we have the same fault l have fitted many Satellite dishes. Can anyone help thought it mite be my old reciever but cant see how perfect reception conditions over last weekend clear and frosty. Tried my Pace Setanta Card in other Sky Hd box works fine on Setanta (did not know Setanta cards were not paired to recievers) So why has my other reciever stopped receving some Setanta channels0

Thanks brodev and thommo for the advice.
I can confirm that when I put the Setanta activated card in the box upstairs, I am able to receive Setanta 1/2, Sports News and Rangers/Celtic, so I guess I can make the following assumptions (?):
 1. The Setanta end is OK (valid subscription, they are "on air", satellite was not the one the US shot down last week)
 2. Box downstairs might be dodgy, box upstairs is fine - but is this likely if the box downstairs is able to receive and decode the signals from all other transponders?
 3. Something between LNB and downstairs box is not right. However, if it was the dish or LNB, then surely the problem would exist both upstairs and downstairs, whilst if it was a broken cable, then the problem would affect other non-Setanta channels?
Do you think it is worth getting someone out, or perhaps waiting a week or so to see if the problem sorts itself out. A few other people seem to be having similar problems.
At least I can watch tonights fight.
 Regards

I would swap the boxes about now. This will tell if it is the box or the LNB.Something Really Interesting0

Looks to me that some older recievers will no longer work following changes to the signal. It would be nice if someone would tell us if thats the case.0

You wouldn't happen to have a DECT phone near to the "faulty" Pace box, would you?
What model number is the Pace Digibox?0

We have had the same problem but resending the signal hasn't worked. Telephoned 3 times and told Engineers are working on a 'major' problem but they don't know what is causing it!!!
Tried CS again today, calls lasting 15mins + but still not getting through. We have had the 'no signal' message for 8 days. Everything else on Sky/Satellite working fine.
Anybody else got any suggestions? Thx0

We currently have an old Pace box downstairs and the newer Sky+ box upstairs. I have swapped my digiboxes around as Brodev recommended:
Old Pace downstairs with Setanta activated card: No Setanta 1/2/News/Celt/Ran
Old Pace box upstairs with Setanta activated card: No Setanta 1/2 etc
New Sky+ box downstairs with Setanta activated card: Setanta 1/2 etc OK.
New Sky+ box upstairs with Setanta activated card: Setanta 1/2 etc OK.
Both boxes able to receive all Sky and other free channels (except Setanta sports news) both upstairs and downstairs, with both Setanta activated card and my other Sky card (from the Sky+ box) - except of course where the card is not married to the box as expected.
This to me confirms my dish alignment is fine, and all cabling is fine, and the problem appears to be digibox related, which is consistent with what thommo reports.
I have noticed that on around Friday evening, I was able to get Setanta for a couple of hours.
I will post any updates/additional info if I get anything.

I managed to get through to CS and they tell me it was to do with the Earth Tremor we had which has damaged one of the Transponders and most of GB has been affected!!!!
We are about 35 miles from the where the 'tremor' came from. CS reckons we should be up and running in 24hrs - if not to phone back!!!
I'm ordering a satellite finder off fleabay to see if the dish needs realigning - just been given so many different stories, not sure what to believe :-(0
