    Thats what I was always taught, hence me lathering the thing in grease as soon as I realised it could be a problem.

    Its a worry for those who dont look after the mechanics of a car thats for sure.

    Who in the world ever bothers lube the bonnet release of a car anyway?

    Its something I was always told to do by my dad, he was a test driver by profession and he reckoned it stopped them seizing. He drove in the USA from coast to coast where sand from the deserts would get in there etc followed by rain and snow on the east coast, just an old habit I guess.
