did T5 to the Travelodge T5 the other day , £4 on the H57 Hoppa bus , drops you of at the door , free transfers between Terminals on the Heathrow Express
Nice clean room , not as noisy as I expected even though I was on the M25 side of the Hotel, would use it again
Thanks Browntoa! This is good to hear:D Could I ask you a bit of advice. I still need to hire a car when I arrive for 4 days. Where would be the best/convenient place to hire from? Did you see any car hire firms close to Travelodge T5 or Terminal 5 ?
I fly into and out of Terminal 1. So I need to be able to pick the car up probably close to T5 (because I presume its a short drive from T5 to Tavelodge 5?) and then drive to Travelodge T5. On leaving I need leave my car off and get to T5 and on to T1 for my flight home.
Whats your advice?
I appreciate your help in advance;)“Having, first, gained all you can, and, secondly saved all you can, then give all you can"....John Wesley

So if you're hiring a car....you arrive at T1 and make your way outside to the courtesy bus of whichever car hire company you've chosen (they're pretty much all available at LHR so just use the one with the best deal, if you can't find the shuttle bus stop then ask at the car hire desk inside the terminal).
The courtesy bus will drop you at the car hire compound and you'll pick the car up there and you can then drive to the Travelodge.
Coming back you'll need to return the car to the compound and then take their shuttle bus to T1 (make sure you ask the driver which terminal they're going to).0 -
Thanks Vampgirl, This is really helpful. I just need to search for a good deal on my car hire now. I was thinking of hiring a car near T5 as this was then a easy drive the Travelodge T5 but that's probably not necessary now and my statnav will take me safely to the Travelodge:D“Having, first, gained all you can, and, secondly saved all you can, then give all you can"....John Wesley

If you have sat-nav then you'll be fine...so long as it doesn't try to take you onto the M4. Most of the car hire places are along the perimiter road so its pretty simple to get to the Travelodge from all of them. If you have any problems just follow the signs for M25 (they'll take you to junction 14) and the Travelodge is just the other side of the motorway.0
