Hotel Near the 02 arena...

Hi All,

We are going to the 02 on the 22 March and wondered if anyone could recommend the nearest hotel to it as I have never been to that part before.

We require three rooms and will be driving down from the North so will require parking too.

Any suggestions?

Many thanks x

This is the nearest hotel to the O2 , it is about 600 yards away from it . I have never stayed there as I live just down the road but have seen it on many occasions on my way to the O2 . Sorry i can't help more

My son stayed at the Crowne Plaza for the NME Awards and paid £99 for a double room for the night, very nice hotel apparently and just had to hop on the DLR to get to the O2 Arena.

We've also stayed at Sunborn Yacht Hotel which is right next to Excel (again, just a hop onto the DLR - station is across the car park) for £79 for a double room (£89 for a balcony) a really lovely and unusual setting.................but wouldn't pay the price for the breakfast! The Holiday Inn Express has plenty of parking. You need to either:

    (1) buy a car park ticket from the machines
    (2) obtain a discounted/free ticket from the hotel
    (3) obtain a short term ticket from the Peninsula Chinese Restaurant below it

Clampers do sometimes operate as cheeky barstewards often used the car park and used the bus service/jubilee line or for visiting the O2.

If you plan to use the restaurant then it pays to book as it can get extremely busy at evenings and weekends. Sunday around lunchtime is crammed with Chinese people using the restaurant. As you are leaving on Sunday make sure you park your car facing out so that you can drive away easily as some of the Chinese parking is erm "interesting"!

I'd really recommend the Holiday Inn Express here and the parking £3 for 24 hours I think. Great Chinese restaurant downstairs also. 10 minutes walk from the O2 and tube station.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express too and it's within walking distance and has cheap parking as recommended above. Some of my friends stayed in the Pilot Inn which is a few minutes closer to the O2 and has parking - not sure how much they charge for parking though.
