Have been trying to figure this one out, but not really getting anywhere.
I've been given £5k, and have decided to use it for home improvements.
I want to deposit it into a new account, in joint names, so my partner can access it as and when he needs to.
It's just going to be a 'slush fund' for want of a better description, with no regular savings going in, only gifts, windfalls and the like.
I guess a current account is not an option, as my salary will stay in my account.
However, as we are going to spend a large portion of it over a number of months, i'm not sure that a savings account is applicable.
Any advice please??

Who do you bank with? Several institutions have instant access savings in the 4.5%-5% range which can be transferred without notice into your current account.Ethical moneysaver0
