I have the above handset, which is locked to Optimus (Portugal).

In Portugal the mobile networks provide GSM home phones: a landline number using mobile technology.

I am looking to swap network. Have any of you come across this handset (looks like a landline cordless phone) and know how or if it can be unlocked?

Most Motorola's , LG's , Samsungs and Sony Ericssons cannot be unlocked by code and need to be unlocked by direct cable or clip in a shop.

If there is not a code listed for your phone below then there is NO free way to unlock it, you need to find a shop or Market Stall to do it for you (correct as of 08/10/09)

Expect to pay between £5 - £20 for most phones for the person to do the unlock

getting a 2g iphone 1st gen off someone this week would rather use a sim adapter rather than go thru computerised unlock ...

theres a few on ebay etc... turbo sims etc

Thanks for your reply. Sorry I missed it as didn’t know it was moved.
That is excellent spot on advice. Trouble is the phone was given to me as a present purchased from a (reputable) second-hand shop and has no SIM so it may not even need unlocking and I don’t really know what to do. It’s a very nice phone and I’d like it to work if possible?
