just been given a new W380i but it is locked to Orange does anyone have a unlocking code please (this is my 1st post not sure if i'm in the right place!)

Search for Sony ericsson PATCH unlock in google.

It's not easy but as long as you follow what the guide says you will be ok.

is there an Unlocking Clip available for SE K800i?

or are the only methods available Flashing the phone or getting the code from the Database?

I have a Treo from my brother which he had oon contract. Is it possible to get a free unlock code for it? It's gather ing dust in the corner of my office at the moment.

No free codes, if its a contract handset Vodafone will unlock it for free, if its not then you can P.M for more advice

What network is it locked to ? You can buy an unlocking clip off ebay for around £4.00, then re-sell the clip on ebay to claim the money back, otherwise pay between £5-£10 at a market stall. There is some software on the Unlocking other than nokia thread but I never reccommend using free software like this just in case it screws the phone.
