Had a lot of problems with trying to set up a network with bt broadband. I have got enough 'speed (?)' to cope with setting up the two pc's, but the BT Broadband Voyager 205 will not entertain any distance apart from same room connections with 2 computers.
My problem now is, I have given up with BT ever sorting this out, we have been through 2 routers from them, so we think we need a new router altogether, but dont think this will work with the BT modem Voyager 105???
We are not held to any contracts with anyone so we can switch easily. Does anyone know the cheapest or best way to do this, or can someone come to our house and do it for us!!! lol, only kidding

I take it that this is a wireless setup ?
I'd buy a combined modem/router - Mine is a Corega and it has been great - It cost about £55 and does everything I need - adsl modem - router- firewall
etc.
my laptop is a couple of rooms away from the router with plenty of walls/wires etc to get in the way and it works great.
Kid's laptop also connects easily at the same timeTo infinity and beyond!0 -
thanks mike we have been trying to set up a wired router will corega work with any service provider including bt im thinking of changing to virgin you get 30 quid cash back from egg what do you think?0

The Corega works with any of the ADSL providers (on the telephone line network rather than the satellite based DSL systems) This is true of most wireless modem routers - they are built for either ADSL or DSL.
I personally connect with e7even but you should have no problems with other providers/
Good Luck
