Can I cancel a Paypal payment if it is "unclaimed"??

If the account the payment has gone to is capable of being a paypal account then you cannot recall the payment or cancel it. It will either just bounce back in 30 days or it can be returned or collected by the seller if they open the account and set it properly as a premier account.

If the account is not capable of being a paypal account ie the address is wrong or in the wrong format, then there will be a cancel button.

If there is no cancel button then it is more likely that either the seller has mistyped their email address or that they have a basic account only. If that is the case you are stuck until seller either rejects or collects your money.

Many years ago this happened to me and I was furious. Turned out I had an underage seller so paypal had pulled her account as soon as they realised she was using her father's card to register (name and card did not match). I spent ages on the phone to her dad who just thought it was funny that his 15 year old daughter was going to be an ebay miliionaire..but refused to do anything. I got my money back on day 30, made a non performing seller complaint and negged her. She didn't stop whining about it for ages..
