Orange cancelled my texts

Options
Hello,

At the end of an 18-month contract with Orange, they cancelled my text-bundle deal - without, to my knowledge, telling me.

Meant I went two months paying for texts without knowing I was doing so.

Does anyone know if this is normal/justifiable on Orange's part?

I was hoping I might be able to get them to return the money I inadvertently spent on texts.

Though they cancelled my texts deal, they kept my inclusive-calls deal going...

I had assumed that both text and and call elements would remain as they were until I arranged a new deal?

With thanks,
David

  • I assume youre on a select or core talkplan? Regardless, the plan youre on didnt come with any texts as standard (ie, built in with it through design). You had a free of charge bundle add on. Unfortunately these bundles are set to only last the duration of the 18month contract, whereas the talkplan is set infinite (ie the same until you choose to change it). I would argue that this wasnt made entirely clear to you when you bought the contract, or near the time it ran out. Good news is, you are now out of contract, in which case you need to complain & threaten to leave. Push for a refund on those texts & the bundle be reapplied. If youre not given it (and even if you are) request to speak to disconnections & barter your lungs out for the best deal possible from them on an upgrade (including a refund if possible). Orange do not want to lose your custom. And if youre not out of contract, but renewed on the same talkplan, DEFINITELY push for a refund & the bundle being reapplied infinitely. Please bare in mind tho that in the renewal situation, it may have just a been an over sight by the upgrader. These talkplans are old & probably pre-date the person who did it's employment at Orange AND these talkplans arent offered to new customers anymore. Also, dont be abusive to whoever you speak to. You might just get a very helpful CSR who posts on forums in his spare time.
  • Re: previous post.

Many thanks for the advice here. Really very much appreciated.

Did actually sign up for new contract with Orange already... But will given them a call and see what they say.

    Thanks again.
