HELP! carphone warehouse Dissconections Dep didnt want 2 know

ive been a contract customer for 8 months now and have an SL65
on the Vodaphone network 350 anytime

my problem is i keep going over the allocated mins with a little help from the girlfriend :) love her

after reading and hearing martins advice about getting the phone company to match another tariff with more minutes and a new phone plus possibly costing me less i couldnt wait to phone them.......

but this is where it went wrong, after going through numorus departments, i got to the disconnections department and was told that although they had offered me an early upgrade due to me going over the allocated minuites, they could not change any of the existing tariffs to get a better deal....

i asked if i had reached the end of my contract would the answer still be the same considering they may be looking at lossing me as customer, and they said YES......

has anyone else tried to do this with CARPHONE WAREHOUSE?????

they said i could have the 500 anytime for £50, but thats what it is anyway

and for the phone i wanted, the 8800 nokia its an extra £400

what a bad week............

serious question, if you were CPW/Vodafone and a customer came to you and said "I know I signed a 12 month contract and theres still another 4 months of it to go but could I possibly have a new phone and a better deal?", what would you honestly say to them, unless you pay off the contract you can't actually leave can you?

I think you may get a different answer despite what they said once you get to 12 months seeing as you are a medium/high user(your out of allowance usage ensures that), but people need to actually think about what they are doing, yes you can batter donw the cost of your mobile etc., but it's far from a free for all with the networks bending over to lavish cheap contracts and free top end phones left right and centre, common sense is still needed

I totally agree, wait till you get to the 11th month and then ring them up the way they talk will be different.
