Kitchen - White or Cream

I've been told I have got to stop dithering now and make my mind up. Both Shaker style, white gloss or matt cream. Please someone say something to help me decide.

  • Definitely white. Anything goes with white, with cream you have to be careful for example you could never use white tiles with a cream kitchen as it would just look off!!
A kitchen also needs to see you through many trends and white is always a classic.
Sorry to go on but I chose a cream bathroom suite a few years ago and I hated it within about a week of having it fitted!! It just looked wrong.

Also with white non-integrated appliances won't look so out of place with the doors.

    I'm still dithering too!
My choice is between a light wood (oak, maple, birch) or cream/ivory. I've personally never considered white as I find it a bit cold.
I've seen white gloss kitchens in magazines and they do look great, but somehow it doesn't seem right for my house.
My kitchen is a big living area and I feel I need something a bit warmer and more homely.
I am planning to team my cream kitchen (if I go with that) with upstands matching the worktop (black probably) and a splashback behind the hob.
Cream would look nice with all sorts of colours - just don't go with white.

Hope that helps - but if you are as indecisive as me, probably not!

Mind you, for bathrooms - white fittings every time!

Wow I think white gloss would be stunning! How would it be for scratches though, are they the same as matt????

I went for cream matt - the high gloss on display showed up finger prints etc. It still looks crisp, but without a clinical look - so a bit warmer :D

good luck, but really either will look good :D

  • I would go for the cream matt ,think it looks more classy for a kitchen.

Cream every time for me, there is so many colour that will go with it, white is nice, but I feel can come across as cold, and the bolder the colour on the walls, the more stark the white will look, cream is more softer.
