  • i do have a limited amount ! i think that it is wrong that us as customers can be treated like we are by the big boys! so i will look at this way to go why should i just take it because they are working on the theory that i can't afford to take it further?, will keep you informed, who knows a bit of adverse publicity for them might not do any harm!
    thanks
  • ok ombudsman has now said he is sending Lloyds a letter telling them that i am considering legal action, also said that this form of action may be able to enfoce the legalities of the way the loan was set up and the lack of any written proof or any agreements from Lloyds to substantiate it, so who knows they might just hold their hands up and make me a decent offer or i might just have to go through with it and gone down the legal route, has anyone gone through with something like this? and if so what was the outcome please? thanks
  • Hi All,

    Happy New Year!

have not been on here for ages but thought i would update my long winded problem! still to this day, which is some 15 months since i first noticed something was wrong have not received any paperwork from Lloyds to substantiate the loan i was questioning, i was given a contact by another money saving expert for a company who deals with issues like mine on a no win no fee basis, they went bust but the cases they were handling were taken on by another company who i contacted yesterday and they were writing to Lloyds to inform them that they are breaking the law by not supplying requested info, so here i am still trying to fight them!!

    regards to all
  • Hi I am new to posting on forums, this is my first time, so please excuse anything I may get wrong.
My husband and I have been battling with Lloyds Business banking for about 6 months now. We have put in a complaint and eventually received a response and, as we expected, the person that investigated the complaint disbelieved us over the word of the BDM (business development manager), we had a meeting with an area director which was a bit of a waste of time, but we then had an e-mail from same area director saying that we have been treated appallingly and the level of service given was totally un-satisfactory, complaints dept have said that if we pay off our loan (we never signed any forms for loan, received no t&c leaflet nor banking code paperwork, and I have requested copies of any paperwork, application forms etc that we may have signed but Lloyds say that they cannot find anything signed by us and so cannot send us copies) and close our account they will offer us £250 as good will gesture!
The whole story is quite long and complicated and involved us basing our business future finacial planning on promises made by the BDM, us having to withdraw from a couple of deals because the BDM didn't come up with the finances within the specified time scales etc etc.
I am happy to give a full blown account of the story if anyone thinks that either they could benefit from our experience or if anyone out there has any suggestions as to what we can do now.
Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
    Many thanks

  • Hi mungosmum,

sounds just like me, fobbed off by Lloyds from about ten different places and people, like you said th balance of the loan that they said i still owed one day just vanished not even a letter to say they were going to clear it, now that is not the move of someone who thinks they are right!! my only advice is don't give up because that is what they hope you will do! in the real world they would be called bullies!! oh no they are licensed to be !! keep going and good luck, if i have any developments i will pass them on to you

It's funny you say that. Hubby had a loan with Loyds about 2002. When we wrote for statements to see what we had been charged (the loan was still outstanding). They wrote back saying we have no details on you, but if you provide information we can look into it. It had been passed to a DCA so we wrote back to Lloyds giving all the info we had been given by them. They wrote back again saying no info or details on. We wrote to DCA last April with a CCA request. They wrote back saying we have informed our client and they will be in touch and this usually take as least one month.

Heard nothing until August 2007, totally ignoring the first letter and saying take you to court etc. So I sent them another letter recently saying you ignored my CCA request back in April and you have failed to comply and broke the law and therefore I want confirmation that you will no longer be pursuing this case.

What is the situation with a company like loancheck if the loan is not fully repaid but they cannot provide paperwork?
  • don't know too much about them yet as they have a back log of work from the other company that went bust, i hope that they will take on Lloyds for me, if not i will use my savings and do it and tell the papers of my problems with them, to let people know what they are really like !! as soon as i have anymore info i will let you know,

thanks for advice, i have replied to FOS saying not happy with offer and explained that repaying £19,694 for this £10,000 is over the top and how did they come to this APR rate ?? we keep trying waited long enough so might as well stick in there a bit longer !! cheers all
The max the APR could be on these figures is around 10%, does not seem that over the top.
  • i agree with your comment on APR rate, but it really is the bigger issue about me not even taking another 10k in 2001, if you have time have a look through my previous entries and see what issues i am having with getting any explanation or answers from Lloyds, look forward to hearing from you, thanks all !

I echo simmyboymartin on this one! Had the same problem. Cannot get any info from Lloyds and theyeven said we have no information or recrods on you. However, because this had in the meantime been sold off to a DCA they are hasling for the money, even though I have sent them request letters since April 07 and they keep telling me they have aplied to the original creditor and will forward it on when they get it. They obviously cannot get it (as Lloyds have admitted they don't have it), so I need to finalise this so I don't keep getting balshy letters from the DCA.
