    Xmas Saver!
    Nice one, sounds like you should be inline for some of your cash back. DOn't forget to add on interest (at the rate they charged you, or even higher) to cover the outgoing you hav ehad. I would also want something for stress, time taken to sort, phone calls, etc etc etc. I'm sure someone on here will give you other ways of pushing them for more dough. And also don't forget that the papers love this kind of thing, particularly in todays climate. Offering to sign some kind of confidientiality agreement may help secure a larger sum faster......
  • thanks for all of your advice, never thought about all that!! and yes i agree it has been eight months of hell to be honest! they did say in a letter about a month ago that they MAY yes MAY offer to repay my payments back till September last year and clear the amount they say is outstanding!! how noble of them hey !! i am thinking if they can't and so far they haven't come up with anything about the so say 10 grand in 2001 then am i not entitled to have all that back ? anyway i will wait and see what offer they have made to the ombudsman and come back on and see what everyone else thinks,

    all this from a few template letters and persistance !!

  • UPDATE;

    just had letter back from Ombudsman;

    they still have no proof of loan being set up in 2001 or loan agreement, but said after investiagating they said i had the loan to consolidate outstanding debts, and they said after recalculating the loan it should have ended in July 2007 and the interest was £9,871.74 but it is now £7,739.30 so i have overpaid this so they will close the loan account and clear the £2,700 that they say i still owe on it as a getsure of goodwill!!! can anyone tell me, if they can't supply any proof of the loan agreement can they do this? or is this just an attempt to get rid of me as cheaply as possible? would like some advice on the next plan of action if anyone can help please

    Well if the Ombudsman has got this far your only other course of action if you think this is wrong is legal action.

    I do not recommend this unless you have very deep pockets and proof.
    No proof and it stops here - sorry.
  • thanks for advice, i have replied to FOS saying not happy with offer and explained that repaying £19,694 for this £10,000 is over the top and how did they come to this APR rate ?? we keep trying waited long enough so might as well stick in there a bit longer !! cheers all
  • Hi All,
    for anyone who is interrested the stroy so far;
    what Lloyds say was outstanding has been cleared be them (£2,700), ombudsman is saying that without any paperwork it is down to me to prove that my story of events has to be more likely not as likely as Lloyds, so even though they have no record of a loan agreement it is tough basically!! so eight months of waiting for answers from lloyds they just write off what they say is left and i have to ly down and say thanks !!! i have never been told how long this loan was for, what APR or anything else but hey ho! i now have to decide whther to accept the outcome or take it furhter, any advice please? good or bad !!

    would the office of fair trading be interested? because i do not think the way i have had my complaint dealt with is fair !!

    thanks all !!

    See post #17

    Nobody will touch your complaint now unless you instruct solicitors - they will need paying. Do you have any money to pay them?

    It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
    Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
    If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
    If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
    If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.
