we bought a 05 Pic from new and love it....
Never had an bit of bother with it, and have travelled all over Europe in it.
It seats our 3 kids easily (ages 6, 10 and a 6 foot 16yr old) and manages with the weight of a full roof box on holidays too......

last year i swapped my trusty old s reg 135000 miles petrol 1800 mondeo for a picasso. as soon as i drove it off the forecourt at arnold clarke it was banging. the garage had it more times ion the first couple of months than i did. it clapped out on me agin when i was camping in devon, then a couple of months ago. what bags of !!!! they are, never again. going to trade it in for a new mondeo when i have some extra cash. i will be sooooo glad to see the back of the banger xx

How can you judge how bad THEY are when you have had only one. A friend of mine has had no probs on a 53 plate fro new and is looking for another one.

I have just bought a scenic 06 plate 16000miles for £7200 with a years man warranty on it...no problems yet in 4 weeks! have to say the french thing does concern me a bit though

In Spain they use them as police cars so they can't be that bad!

I've had an 02 plate for about 18 months. Only issue has been a flat battery after the car was left at an airport for about a week. I wasn't there so my wife had to sort it out, but I suspect one of the kids switched on one of the interior lights or something. In general it's been fine - very spacious and versatile. You can take the rear seats out completely which gives you almost as much cargo space as a small van.

Citroen have sold thousands of them (must be one of their most successful models) so there are bound to be a few with problems - Citroen is not up there with Toyota in terms of consistency. Given that electrics are Citroen's weak point it might be better to avoid the high-spec models with lots of gadgets - my father had lots of problems with the gadgets on a high-spec Citroen C5.
Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning

I test drove 2 picassos, 2 Scenics and a Zafira 5 years ago then went and bought a Fiat Multipla - what an amazing car! Never had any problems with it and it's the only car I've ever kept for as long as 5 years. It may look weird but the fuel economy is surprisingly good (Multipla is a 1.6 and actually does more to the gallon than the 1.6 Escort I had before it) and the convenience of the 6th seat is priceless. Plus kids love the 3 seats in the front and my daughter's become extra popular because of it! Only car I've ever owned that I'll replace with the same model. Eventually!

Air bags are designed to go off only with head on collission with a strong force, i.e. enough to throw the occupants forward enough to injure them. If it rolled around then it is not likely air bags would go off.
